Crash Course Helps Managers Adapt to Capitated Environment

In the late 1990s, parts of the federal government’s health infrastructure began to transition from a traditional indemnity basis to capitated arrangements. This required administrators of government health facilities to adapt to a new management paradigm.

To prepare, a full curriculum and management training was developed and field-tested, with special emphasis on the use of data to meet beneficiary access targets while covering operating costs.
